To just jump or cross?
Suppose you are walking on a road with a child, a stream of water comes in front of you. Now, you either pick up the child, or you take his hand or you ask him to jump over the stream. No one will ask him to step into the water and enjoy; enjoy this little thing. Some would argue that we are going for a party- how can we let him spoil his dress.
And this is how we teach him to lead his life too. When an obstacle comes, we either ask him 'oh wait! I'll face it for you' or you assure him that you are with him and he can fight for himself; or you ask him to jump over the obstacle somehow or the other because only then will he be able to live 'normally', you say. No one ever preaches to enjoy this small obstacle life has thrown in your way
What we teach today is that you can enjoy only after you reach the party. The journey is not supposed to be enjoyed. Because you have to reach the party all dressed up. And finally when we reach the party, we find it all so boring, so dull; and we return back still dressed up and no memories in hand. That is what happens with life too.
You wait for the right moment to enjoy, passing by all those joys life is offering you. And finally when you are there, you find it all so boring. You turn back thinking that you might find something that makes you happy. But you were so careful for being dressed up and preserving everything for the right moment that you hardly lived before that. And that I guess is the reason why they say "live each day of life as if it is a memory in the making."
Who knows when a simple normal day would turn into a most memorable one. When a normal long journey to a rocking 3 hour party would turn into a rocking awesome long journey to a may be or may be not so good party.
So mature!!
